Itinerary
Arrival at Marrakech International Airport. Meet and greet by our representative at the exit of the airport. Transfer to your hotel in Marrakech. Activity on this day will depend on your arrival time. You will be close enough to the medina to explore on your own.
An exciting day awaits you as Marrakech’s heady sights and sounds will dazzle, frazzle, and enchant. Our one day in Marrakech itinerary kicks off with a morning city tour including Bahia Palace and Dar Si Said, both showcasing a riot of tile work and intricate floral painted-wood ceilings. Then, learn about the Berber culture, following their steps along the trade routes from North Africa to the Sahel at the Tiskiwin Museum, where displays range from authentic Berber tents and carpets to fine basketwork and ancient jewelry. Continue to Dar El Bacha, considered one of the most beautiful palaces in the red city. Visitors can discover the ceiling with multicolored mosaics and Berber-style architecture. Afterward, take time to visit Jemaa el-Fnaa market and witness the astonishing spectacle of the bustling square. During the day, you’ll find juice stalls, water sellers, and snake charmers, while by night, the square transforms with dancing boys, storytellers, and magicians. We leave early in the morning from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. On the way to Skoura Valley, we cross the High Atlas with 2260 meters of height with an incredible natural landscape until the Kasbah of Aït-Ben-Haddou, one of the oldest UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will visit this site with a local guide and we will lunch nearby.
The Kasbah is a group of several small fortresses, or (kasbahs), arriving to have ten meters of height each one. Most of the city’s inhabitants now live in a more modern village on the other side of the river; however, eight families still live in the old Kasbah, and making this visit is like stepping into the back of a movie as it has been filmed there several famous films including Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander and Prince of Persia
After lunch, we take the road to The Dades Valley between the High Atlas Mountains and the Jbel Saghro range in the south. The area provides one of the largest oases and several Kasbahs. In fact, a nickname for the region is “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs’ ‘ due to the many located throughout the valley.
As one moves through Dades Valley it is possible to reach the Dades Gorge and the Todra Gorges (Canyon).
The Grand Canyon area of TODGHA Gorge is one of the most famous natural landscapes in Morocco, the imposing canyon walls make this place one of the most stunning rock formations in all of North Africa.There is a road that runs the length of the gorge, the walls are smooth and rise impressively on both sides. Sunlight struggles to reach this part of the valley, and the river water is ice cold.In this impressive place we will stay for the night and dinner at a riad.

We drove from Todra to visit the Moroccan Grand Canyon. We will lunch in the canyons region before returning on the road to Merzouga.
After lunch we continue driving to Merzouga and we will stop to see some old tunnels made in the desert that served to capture water from the underground rivers around the 14 centuries then continue to Erfoud the last city before Merzouga.
Arriving in Merzouga we will have your camels ready to take you on a 1-hour ride to your camp.
You will have dinner in the desert, after which you can enjoy the berberes music by the fire before you go to rest in your berbere tent.
Wake up early in the morning to see the sun rising at the top of a sand dune then have your breakfast and enjoy one more hour of camel ride back to our car in Merzouga. Our final destination will be the city of Fez but until then there will be a day full of good experiences and fantastic landscapes.
On our way to the north we will make a short stop in Midelt, the great charm of this small town lies in its location between the Middle Atlas and the Grand Atlas. It is surrounded by mountains and has a fantastic Atlas landscape.
Soon we will arrive at Ifrane city. On the outskirts of the city there are three protected natural areas: The Ifrane National Park, to the northwest, the Cedar Forest to the south and the Ifrane Game Reserve to the northeast. Located at an altitude of 5,460 feet above sea level in the Middle Atlas region, this small hill town has a Swiss alpine feel to it. Due to the high altitude, snow is abundant in winter and has cool summer weather which may be an “exotic touch” to our trip.
In the landscape arise forests of giant cedars and colonies of monkeys similar to those that populate the rock of Gibraltar.
We will arrive in Fez city at the end of the day and will drop you of in your hotel.
Welcome to Fes, the most monumental of the Imperial Cities. The medina of Fès el-Bali (Old Fez), a UNESCO World Heritage site, is an assault on the senses, a warren of narrow lanes and covered bazaars bursting with aromatic food stands, craft workshops, mosques, and an endless parade of people. As you embark on this Moroccan experience, we will walk along narrow, uneven alleyways, with daylight filtering down from above high gray walls, flanked by tables heaped with spices, dried fruits, fresh fish, silk, and leather garments.
Residents of Fez have been selling goods and handcrafting metal in the medina since medieval times, with today’s artisans often working in the same stalls as their ancestors. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find cats prowling and lounging around, the unofficial mascots of the medina. Here, in the heart of Fez, the old and the new collide seamlessly—the man driving donkeys and mules may be chatting on his mobile phone, while the ancient skyline is punctuated by both satellite dishes and minarets.
The city tour includes iconic sites such as Bab Boujloud, the Mellah, and Jamaa Al-Karaouine, the oldest continually operating university in the world. Founded in 859, its tranquil inner courtyard is adorned with intricately carved geometric patterns. Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.
Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason.
It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.
