Day trip to Ourika Valley from Marrakech
Departure
Departure at 9 am from Marrakech to Ourika valley, we will drive 30 km in 1 hours through a landscape of rolling foothills to this amazing area near to the village of setti fatma.
Setti-Fatma: last douar accessible by paved road, this small village is the starting point for many excursions in the neighboring mountains. The most popular and easiest hike is to ride along a mountain stream to discover 7 waterfalls.
Arriving 1h before lunch time to the most visited site of the region will allow us to walk easy whit a local guide about 600 meters up the hills and enjoy the amazing views.
Safranière de l’Ourika: farm that has the particularity of producing saffron., His visit is the most interesting from late October to mid-November when harvesting this spice.
After the walk you will enjoy lunching whit foot on the river, the typical Moroccan lunch, a delicious tajine, can be taken in a restaurant in the shade next to the river, after lunch you have 2 hours free to enjoy a walk around the berbere village end next to the river, let yourself relax next to the amazing river and catch some sun or take a swim
17pm drive back to Marrakech.

Best trip ever! We were a group of 4 and we had a great day. We learned a lot of things about Morocco from our guide Hicham, had a traditional lunch, ride the camels. Everything was awesome!
This was our second day trip with Hicham. He is an excellent and knowledgeable guide who was happy to stop wherever we wanted for breaks or pictures and he took some lovely family pictures for us.
The Ourika trip is great for a change from the mayhem of Marrakech. The views are stunning and the walk up to the waterfalls is good fun, although I would not recommended it for kids under five or anyone in flip flops. Our kids went for a swim in the lovely cool pools of the waterfalls. On our way back we had lunch sitting in a river which was an incredible experience.
I would recommend Hicham very highly. He is everything you could ask for in a tour guide and when we return to Marrakech he will be the first person we contact.

Lovely time! We were picked up right on time by our driver, he was very nice, introducing various buildings in Marrakech, stoping for pictures along the way and so on. Once we arrived, our guide, Mohammed took us to the mountains! It is a difficult climb, do not recommend it to those who have physical problems; and those who don’t- ensure proper footwear, boots, or trekking shoes, as it is slippery and scary at times. We enjoyed the experience, would definitely do it again!
