*Tangier* is a Moroccan city located in the far north of Morocco, on the banks of the Strait of Gibraltar, where the waters of the Mediterranean Sea meet the Atlantic Ocean. It is considered the gateway to Africa and Europe, and is distinguished by its strategic location that has made it a commercial and cultural center throughout history. Founded in ancient times (known in Phoenicia as “Tingis”), it combines Moroccan authenticity with Mediterranean and international influences.
Tangier is famous for its historic neighborhoods such as the “Kasbah” and the “Old City”, in addition to its landmarks such as the “Cave of Hercules” and “Cape Spartel”. In the twentieth century, it was an international area that attracted international artists and writers. Today, it is an important economic center, especially with the presence of the “Tangier Med” port (the largest African port), and a vital industrial area, in addition to being a tourist destination for the beauty of its beaches and picturesque nature.
