6 days Sahara Desert tour from Marrakech

1

Day 1: Marrakech - Essaouira

Departure time at 8 am. Our driver will pick you from your hotel in Marrakesh to enjoy your first day on the road.

On our way from Marrakech to Essaouira we can visit a woman’s argan oil cooperative, this area is famous because of the argan trees and we will do some stops to make some photos of the trees and the goat shepherds.

We will arrive in Essaouira at lunch time and you have the rest of the day to enjoy yourself, you can have a delicious fresh fish lunch at the port, after you can walk inside the old (18 century) medina and you can also discover one of the most beautiful beaches in Africa.

Essaouira has a vibrant vibe and we are sure it will be a highlight on your trip.

2

Day 2: Essaouira -Taroudant

Departure from Essaouira to Agadir, we will go by the coast in a calm and serene morning until arriving at Agadir where we can stop for lunch.

After lunch we take the road to Taroudant where we arrive in time to take a walk through the walls and the ancient souk, to dive in the Riad swimming pool or just to relax in the garden while the dinner is ready.

3

Day 3: Taroudant-Skoura

From your riad in Taroudant to the Skoura Valley we will visit the UNESCO classified Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah, with a local guide and we will lunch nearby.
After lunch we take the road to Skoura Valley, we will drive through the oasis to visit the Amridil Kasbah (17 century) with a local guide.

We will end our day in a very quiet Riad with a wonderful balcony were you can take your welcome mint tea watching the sun set.

4

Day 4: Skoura - Merzouga

After breakfast we will continue our journey to Merzouga and this will be a day with many different landscape on our way.

The highlight place in the morning would be the Grand canyon area of TODGHA gorge one of the most famous nature landscape in morocco, we will do a small walk of 30 minutes in that place and have lunch near.

After lunch we continue driving to Merzouga and we will stop to see some old tunnels made in the desert that served to capture water from the underground rivers around the 14 century then continue to Erfoud the last city before Merzouga.

Arriving in Merzouga we will have your camels ready to take you on a 1 hour ride to your camp.

You will have dinner in the desert, after you can enjoy to joint the berberes and listen the music by the fire before you go to rest in your berbere tent.

5

Day 5: Merzouga - Agdz (Draa Valley)

Wake up early in the morning to see the sun rising at the top of a sand dune then have your breakfast and enjoy one more hour camel ride back to our car in Merzouga.

From Merzouga to Agdz we will drive around the Draa valley.

Despite its rich history, culture and fame, the Berbers of the Draa Valley still live in ways very similar to those of their ancestors, they ride donkeys, wash their clothes in the river and depend on clay to build their houses, when you are there, you feel transported to an ancient time and it will be a pleasant day.

When you arrive to your Riad you can just have a mint tea and enjoy the calm of a fresh oasis or if you like you can go on a walk through the gardens and visit a Kasbah near the Riad, just before your dinner by the pool.

6

Day 6: Agdz (Draa Valley) - Marrakech

After breakfast, we return to the road towards the city of Ouarzazate, this city known as “the gate of the desert” is one of the most used places in Morocco as a setting by filmmakers from around the world. In addition to the landscapes, another of the area’s great attractions is the quality of light, with a bright sun for at least 300 days a year.

Films like Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), The Last Temptation of Christ (1988), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Asterix and Obelix – (2004), Kundun (1997), Legionnaire (1998), Hanna (2011), The Hills Have Eyes (2006).

After visiting the film studios we continue our journey through the high Atlas mountains to Marrakesh by taking a break for lunch in a pleasant restaurant in the mountains then back to Marrakesh.

exceptional experience
My son and I were thoroughly pleased with our six days traveling with Deep Morocco tours from Marrakech through the Atlas mountains out into the desert and ending in marrakech. Everyone associated with the company (guides, drivers and especially the owner, Hicham) was knowledgeable, interesting, thoughtful and had a good sense of humour (which is saying a lot since our trip was during Ramadan). We felt well taken care of and were very happy with the accommodations they chose.
I enthusiastically recommend this tour company and will use them again in future travel to Morocco.

One of the best tour companies that I have dealt with- highly recommend.
Review of: 7 Days Morocco History and Culture Tour
If you are on a budget and you want to see the 6 beautiful cities in Morocco, this is it.
Well planned itineraries that will provide all the connecting rides, tour guides, transportation and service. Staff from one cities to the other were well organised. We had Adnanne drive us for 3 days from Fez to Marrakesh and we were well taken cared of. I would loved to plan with this company again with my future trips. (hopefully Corono virus will have cure) They even surprised us with a Camel ride, which gave us a great highlight for our trip.
